The Music Department of Bates College announces a one-year position for a musicologist, to begin on August 1st, 2016.

The teaching load for this position consists of five courses within the academic year. Teaching responsibilities include Classical Music in Western Culture, Performance in Western Classical Music, Music and Drama, and two courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. A completed or nearly completed doctorate in musicology is expected. Rank: Visiting Assistant Professor.

Supplementary materials (graduate and undergraduate school transcripts and a sample of scholarly writing), if requested by the department, will be reviewed beginning Feb 25, 2016.
