The Licensing & Trademarks Manager administers the University’s trademark licensing program and manages the overall vision and execution of the program. Establishes strategies that advance and maximize royalty revenue and grow brand awareness and affinity. Coordinates with key licensing partners to expand the reach and sale of UVU consumer products.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus three to five years of related experience, including two years of supervisory experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling at least seven years.
Demonstrated experience managing a collegiate licensing program.
Strong knowledge of the licensing and trademarking process, with preference for experience working in a collegiate setting.
Knowledge of best design practices and fashion trends.
Knowledge of retail distribution channels and retail buying strategies.
Knowledge of the consumer products industry (primarily apparel).
Demonstrated marketing and sales skills.
Demonstrated relationship building skills in a business setting.
Strong negotiation skills, including experience negotiating high level partnership agreements across a wide spectrum of manufacturing partners.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills.
Skills in working with design and desktop publishing software applications.
Demonstrated ability to generate revenue.
Ability to build and grow a program.
Ability to track and measure ROI.
Ability to think strategically and outside the box.
Ability to analyze data and trends in order to make decisions.
Ability to thrive under pressure.
Ability to be a self-starter.
Ability to collaborate, build rapport, and work in a team environment.
