The Coordinator for Leadership and Diversity Initiatives is a full-time, live-on, 12-month professional appointment that is a member of the Central Staff. They oversee our Residential Education Center (REC), serve as advisor to the Residence Hall Association, oversee department committees, and work with our diversity initiatives. The Coordinator will have the following responsibilities: attend meetings and conferences as appropriate for the advisor to the Residence Hall Association, overall management of REC including managing supplies and supervision (hiring, training and evaluating) of the REC desk staff, administration of special programs (staff and student development programs), and various committee work. This unique live-on position will work closely with students and professional staff as part of their daily responsibilities. They will also share emergency on-call responsibilities at the Central Staff level.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree.

Demonstrated ability to work with students and administrators in a broad range of situations and demonstrate a genuine concern/interest for the welfare of students.

Demonstrated communication skills, public relation skills, and public speaking skills.

Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of student development and academic success.

Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student and staff population.
