The Director of Experiential Learning is responsible for all experiential learning programs.
Additional Department Summary:
The Director of Experiential Learning, Engagement & Strategy is responsible for all experiential learning programs, undergraduate and graduate, in the Culverhouse College of Commerce. Experiential learning includes corporate-sponsored projects, service learning, and all student research to support the College's implementation of the UA Quality Enhancement Plan. In addition, the position will work to increase corporate sponsors to enhance their participation in the College as it relates to student learning, recruitment opportunities, faculty sponsored projects and development opportunities. Job holder will be responsible for developing new experiential learning opportunities, working with Culverhouse faculty to assess and certify existing opportunities, and developing assessment procedures for experiential learning consistent with AACSB standards. Furthermore as position holder will be the liaison of the College with experiential learning, faculty projects, and corporate sponsors they will also provide strategy recommendations to the Dean in regards to communication, presence in the market place and marketing to college constituencies.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree and three (3) years of experience; OR Masters degree and one (1) year of experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong organizational (including relationship building), communication (both oral and written), project management, and financial management skills. Familiarity with AACSB accreditation process to support assessment of experiential learning. Grant writing experience, success in generating funds from donors to support experiential learning, teaching experience in experiential learning. Business strategy experience and understanding of higher education arena, its constituencies and marketing techniques.
Master's degree in business discipline and eight (8) years in industry or research institution (preferably developing experiential learning programs). Experience supervising. Preferred experience in strategic planning in industry or higher education arena. Higher Education experience in experiential learning is also a preferred qualification. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 43887.96 Midpoint - $ 63648.00
