Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Manager Scholarships & Endowments directs the operations of a particular Scholarship Program for the purpose of recruiting and retaining students at The University of Alabama. This position is responsible for the scholarship application and awarding process; for identifying and soliciting donors, and the administration of endowed and non-endowed scholarship funds.

Additional Department Summary:

Duties also include coordination with other departments campus-wide involved in scholarship activity, donor relations and gift stewardship; serving as the primary liaison with a broad-based alumni network; financial management of the University of Alabama Collegiate License Tag Program; and writing and executing, memorandums of agreement.

Required Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of three years related experience; or a bachelor's degree.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong organizational skills are mandatory in addition to the ability to communicate effectively, written and orally, with all personalities. The person in this position must understand the mission of The University of Alabama and the National Alumni Association. Managerial skills and professional knowledge of the University are preferred. Sound problem solving techniques and self-motivation are also essential. A minimum of two years on-the-job experience is necessary to learn all major duties and be able to do them well.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in higher education, business, public relations, marketing, management or other relevant area and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a four-year public university or college is preferred. Experience in all aspects of Banner (budget & student information side/scholarships) and OnBase and ASAS (scholarship inputting, imaging & awarding). 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 29120.04 Midpoint - $ 40767.96
