Under the direction of the Art Director, directs the work of designers and illustrators and works closely with photographers in the development of collateral for the marketing and communication effort of the university. Creates original designs for a wide variety of client projects across the university. Serves as assistant art director for UVU Magazine.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and two years experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling six years.
Experience in a higher education environment.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Knowledge of post secondary education design methodology.
Fluent knowledge of current design and print production hardware and software, including a strong knowledge of desktop publishing, illustration, and digital photography programs (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Proven skills in creativity, communication, and project management.
Strong customer service skills.
Demonstrated skills in photography and typography.
Demonstrated ability to create brand-unified, high-quality print materials.
Ability to multi-task, enforce production schedules, focus on priorities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work accurately and independently, and as a team member.
Ability to organize and communicate effectively.
Ability to manage a team of designers.
