The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), an internationally renowned college of art and design, business and technology, of the State University of New York, invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Dean for International Education.
The Fashion Institute of Technology, a part of the State University of New York, has been a leader in career education in art, design, business, and technology for nearly 70 years. With a curriculum that provides a singular blend of hands-on, practical experience, classroom study, and a firm grounding in the liberal arts, FIT offers a wide range of outstanding programs that are relevant to today's rapidly changing industries. Internationally renowned, FIT draws on its New York City location to provide a vibrant, creative community in which to learn. The College offers more than 45 majors and grants AAS, BFA, BS, MA, MFA, and MPS degrees, preparing students for professional success and leadership in the global marketplace.
Desired qualifications: Earned or in-progress doctorate in higher or international education or related field. Ten years of appropriate experience in higher education study abroad programs or related fields; Extensive knowledge of program development with a demonstrated understanding of verbal, print and digital communications strategies; ability to oversee study abroad application management and institutional database systems; history of working directly with faculty, staff and students; high organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to supervise compilation of detailed academic and financial reports required. Must be able to make complicated management decisions, compose complex correspondence and conduct research for concurrent projects. Experience with electronic communication systems, database and spreadsheet reports. Excellent student and faculty relations skills essential. Substantial international experience and involvement in NAFSA: Association of International Educators and/or Forum on Education Abroad required.
The salary will be commensurate with education level and cumulative experience. Please note a background check is required for appointment to this position.
