The Systems/Business Analyst will work with all offices in the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success to ensure the division continues to move forward with strategic initiatives related to student success. The Systems/Business Analyst will participate in multiple levels of computer application development including analysis, design, requirements definition, development, testing, implementation, training, and production support in a flexible work environment.
Design, develop, modify, test, implement, and provide support and problem resolution for computer web applications
Gain a thorough understanding of the functions and features of Ellucian Banner and Bannerweb, and the additional software interfaces used throughout the division of Enrollment Management and Student Success, from a technical and client perspective
Understand and determine the business needs to be met, document and analyze requirements, and produce functional/technical specifications and project plans
Work collaboratively with users throughout development, design, modification, testing and implementation of project applications
Participate in client test planning and actual testing
Work with clients in a proactive manner, offering solutions to problems and continually striving to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their business operation
Follow established security best practices to identify/avoid application security vulnerabilities.
Participate in professional development activities

Degree/years of experience:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Analysis, Computer Science or a related field earned by date of hire and 1+ years post-degree experience developing web-based applications OR
Bachelor's degree in another field by date of hire with 2+ years of full-time post-degree work experience developing web-based applications OR
3+ years of full-time work experience developing web-based applications
1+ years of work experience using database management systems in application development; demonstrated knowledge of relational database management systems
1+ years demonstrated knowledge of web application development in a multi-browser environment and multiple current industry programming languages
1+ years Java-based intranet web portal support and development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Application development and/or third party application deployment in a Linux environment

Agile project management
Development of web applications that are accessibility (ADA) compliant and hardened against web attacks (SQL injection, cross-site scripting, etc.)
