Under the supervision of the Director, the Program Assistant is responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day operation of Student Employment policies and procedures. In addition, this person will be working with the Assistant Director and Director in administering and executing the bi-weekly payroll, the hiring process for all on-campus positions, and managing the student employment work force within the Student Employment Office. Makes recommendations to the Director regarding changes and improvements to office policy and procedures.

Responsible for the bi-weekly payroll related data-entry into Colleague.
Functions as a liaison to the Payroll Department to ensure the accuracy of student documentation, including completion of W4, I9, social security numbers as well as verification of valid visa status of international students.
Coordination of all filing, and correspondence from the Student Employment office in its effort to obtain and maintain accurate and complete employment folders.
Under the supervision of the Director, coordinates the student referral process. Identifies, develops, lists on-campus student employment opportunities with special attention to the Federal College Work-study program.
Responsible for providing information regarding student employment application procedures. Maintains and updates office correspondence and literature.
Conducts student employment application interviews with individual applicants. Qualifies and quantifies student profiles based upon established criteria.
Counsels students regarding student employment related issues.
Works with the Assistant Director in hiring and scheduling of the student employees.
Works with the Assistant Director to ensure that student employees are trained, and are kept up to date on any new projects or policies.
Works with both the Assistant Director and Director on Student Employment Workshops as needed: research, administering, booking, etc.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Familiarity with databases, spreadsheets and word processing. Prior experience with File Maker Pro and/or Datatel is desired.
