Job Summary

The Anthropology Program at Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time visiting position in Biological Anthropology at the Assistant Professor level, to begin September 2016. We seek a broadly trained biological anthropologist able to integrate biocultural perspectives in teaching and research. We are especially interested in candidates from under-represented groups, as well as individuals who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. The successful applicant will have topical and geographical interests, and active fieldwork that complement existing faculty expertise. The position requires teaching 3 courses per semester, including a combined biological anthropology and archaeology introductory course, as well as upper-level courses focusing on the candidate's geographic and topical interests, with a preference for courses on human variation, race and racism, human evolution, and/or forensics. Minimum Qualifications

Requirements: PhD at time of appointment, and applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. We also desire candidates with an interest in contributing to interdisciplinary programs
