Description of Position: Full-time Vocational Evaluator at the Evaluation and Developmental Center (EDC). The primary function of the position is to plan, coordinate, and implement a vocational services program that provides vocational evaluation, functional capacity evaluation and psychological assessment services to individuals with disabilities. The position also administers, scores, interprets and analyzes testing results and other consumer information and provides guidance and counseling to consumers to assist with developing realistic vocational goals. This is responsible for caseload management, testing and report writing for approximately 100 to 150 individuals participating the program per year.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Plan, coordinate, and implement a vocational services program that provides vocational evaluation, functional capacity evaluation, and psychological assessment services to individuals with disabilities.
Administer, score, interpret, and analyze testing results and other consumer information, provide guidance and counseling to consumer to assist with developing realistic vocational goals.
Ensure successful operation for all aspects of vocational services including staffing, testing, and other program supplies.
Develop and evaluate vocational services program goals and objectives on an annual basis through performance improvement meetings and subsequent revision of program manuals and materials.
Supervise and schedule staff and university graduate and undergraduate students for implementing overall program goals and objections and individual program planning for vocational services.
Perform case management duties during completion of vocational evaluations and psychological assessments and subsequent reports as needed to meet programming needs and objectives.
Work cooperatively with external sources such as community employers, social service agencies, transitional independent living and residential programs and staff, and other stakeholders in providing vocational services.
Facilitate applied research opportunities for program development and rehabilitation students and/or faculty and coordinate educational field placements.
Adhere to IL Div. of Rehab. Services requirements and maintain professional relationship with counselors from that agency.
The Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities accreditation standards requires continual compliance updates. Participate in ensuring on-going compliance with those standards related to Vocational Evaluation.

Requirements: Minimum requirements: Master's Degree in Rehabilitation. A valid driver's license is required. Experience in vocational evaluation is preferred. A Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or the ability to obtain the CRC within one year is preferred.
This position is security sensitive. Prior to an offer of employment, a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check, will be required.
