Quinnipiac University is a thriving, three-campus private, coeducational, non-sectarian institution located in Hamden, Conn., 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university enrolls 6,000 full-time undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students in more than 70 programs.
Presently, we are seeking a Director of Veteran and Military Affairs and invite applications for this position.
The Director of Veteran and Military Affairs will provide support services and coordinate academic, financial and admissions services for military students and student veterans. This will include coordinating Yellow Ribbon and vocational rehabilitation benefits between Quinnipiac University and the Veteran’s Administration, working with the office of the Bursar to resolve any billing issues, working with the campus certifying official to resolve any registration issues, and assisting the students in obtaining additional support services as required. Other responsibilities will include providing academic and career guidance, developing and maintaining an orientation and peer support group for veterans and military as well as assisting admissions with outreach and recruitment in the community.
Qualified candidates will have a broad knowledge base of Veteran and Military Administration policies and procedures, with particular expertise regarding tuition assistance programs including the Montgomery GI Bill, Post 911 GI Bill, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Chapter 33. Knowledge of grants and scholarships for veterans and family members is required. Substantial experience with higher education and military service is preferred. Bachelors Degree required.
