Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University has immediate openings for exceptional educators at the full, associate or assistant professor levels. These positions include teaching in one or more medical science disciplines (e.g., anatomy, physiology, pathology, immunology, genetics, etc.). Successful candidates will be expected to teach broadly across the curriculum to medical students and to work with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines to develop instructional materials and to teach effectively. Initial appointment is for a three year term and may be renewed.
The Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine admitted its inaugural class of medical students in August 2013. The school was founded with the aim of educating diverse, patient centered physicians who are partners and leaders in an interprofessional primary care workforce. Primary duties of these positions include instruction to medical students broadly across the disciplines of physiology, pathophysiology and/or pathology in a variety of instructional settings, including the lecture hall, laboratory, small groups, and at clinical sites. Additional responsibilities for clinician candidates may include participating as a Foundation of Clinical Care Preceptor in the Clinical Arts and Science Course. The successful candidates will develop, coordinate, integrate, and deliver curricular materials independently and in collaboration with other faculty members. Incumbents are expected to advise and mentor medical students regarding academic, curricular, capstone project, and career matters. Additional specific responsibilities include scholarly activity, service on committees, and other duties as negotiated and assigned.
Qualifications for this position include an MD, PhD, or DO degree, although qualified candidates from other medically-related disciplines will also be considered. Successful candidates must present evidence of an established record of, or demonstrate a strong potential for, effective teaching, and a commitment to work productively in an interprofessional team. Evidence of potential for productive scholarly and creative activity is also desired.
