Detailed Job Description

Performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and practices.

Additional Department Summary:

Responsible for finance & accounting of all Culverhouse centers, faculty research and service accounts. Will advise Associate Dean for Research and Center Directors of in all funding matters. Management of multiple account types for center and faculty projects and services (state funds, contracts and grants, cost share, service, gift funds and endowments, etc.). Analyze Institute and Center Accounts to determine cash flows and other operating benchmarks. Make necessary adjustments to Center Accounts in accordance with UA policies/procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Practices to ensure continued non-deficit spending within funds. Prepare Journal Entries and Budget Changes as needed to coincide with UA Accounting policies/ procedures. Review financial reports to identify and explain variances. Gather financial data as needed to establish projections for future operations. Will work closely with Culverhouse Accounting Administrator I to ensure appropriateness of information being provided.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and at least one (1) year accounting related experience; OR a CPA and some professional accounting experience. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
