The Assistant Director, Spokane Operations is a key member of the WSU Cougar Athletic Fund staff, sharing responsibilities for the advancement of the CAF’s development goals, as well as assisting in athletics marketing and ticket sales efforts in the Spokane and Coeur D’Alene areas. This position will be based in Spokane, physically housed at the University’s WSU Connections location.
The position will serve as the departmental liaison to assigned booster groups, establish strong corporate relationships, provide stewardship to current athletic donors, lead efforts in discovery visits in assigned regions, provide leadership of regional engagement events (to include attendance and sponsorship sales goals) and aid in season, single game and group ticket sales.
A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Advanced Degree in related field.
Fund-raising experience in the University/Higher Education environment.
Fund-raising, sponsorship sales, marketing, ticketing or related work experience within intercollegiate athletics.
Work experience that demonstrates excellent written communication skills.
Work experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
Work experience that demonstrates strong computer capabilities and familiarity with spreadsheets and database systems (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, alumni/donor applications, E-mail).
Work experience that demonstrates the ability to work autonomously and to establish priorities and follow-up in a timely manner.
