The Athletic Event & Facilities Coordinator will work with the Athletic Game Operations staff.
This position specifically support the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
The position has the possibility of a change to full-time employment based on the candidate’s performance.
Assist in the organization and implementation of sporting and special events for the athletic department.
Assist with oversight of event staff, ushers and contracted security personnel.
Primary contact for all external rentals, special events and non-varsity use of athletic facilities.
Create/maintain operational publications.
Assist with credentialing/parking passes.
Policy and best practice research and implementation as needed.
Primary contact for parking operations at all ticketed events.
Primary sport responsibilities as assigned.
Serve as Assistant Facility Supervisor of the Indoor Sports Center, performing regular upkeep and maintenance.
Assist with preparation of contracts and invoices.
Participate in weekly operations meetings, updating and distributing agendas and minutes.
Responsible for department inventory management.
Identify and resolve situations impacting overall customer experience.
Assist with game day production and coordination with Marketing, Ticketing and Development.
In addition to the aforementioned duties, there may be opportunities for further growth and development in areas such as: intercollegiate athletic administration, game day operations, facility management, personnel, and finance.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in sport administration/ management or related field
Previous event management experience.
Strong computer literacy in Windows, Excel (for inventory and credentials), Word, and Publisher
Skills in written, oral, administrative and interpersonal communications.
Must demonstrate the following: a strong work ethic; effective time management skills; desire to excel and establish a career in athletics; attention to detail; consistent organization; responsibility, and flexibility.
Must possess the ability to: self-motivate; work in a fast-paced environment accept direction and constructive criticism; adapt to change; work on multiple projects; prioritize events and/or circumstances is essential.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of NCAA, MAC, and NCHC rules/ regulations, specifically related to event management and camps.
A graduate degree in sports administration/management or related field
Previous publication design experience
1 year of experience in game day/facility management (can include internship experience)
