Job Description:

Reporting to the AVP of Marketing and Recruitment, the Associate Director of Video Services will align the video content creation and distribution strategy across all of Berklee Online to achieve a unified look and feel for all video production endeavors across the organization. Utilizing video best practices and best-in-breed technology, this position will optimize video content for both educational and marketing purposes with the goal of increasing reach, ROI, and engagement. This position will have indirect supervision and will participate in goal setting and annual performance reviews for all video personnel. While direct reporting is to the AVP of Marketing and Recruitment, job performance will be assessed by the leadership team at Berklee Online, representing all of the staff members this role directs. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and execute on innovations in video (VR, strobe technology, etc.) to enhance brand positioning, and student experience in our online courses.
  • Experiment, iterate, measure, and make recommendations based on data and video performance.
  • Develop strategies and coordinate teams focused on the goal of utilizing video content more effectively across multiple channels (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MOOCs, online courses, etc.) in combination with developing content for specific channels that is optimized for exceptional performance. These strategies will include coordinating a unified approach to lighting, software, editing, storage, and more.
  • Coordinate the efforts of several disparate video teams to create a unified look and feel between massive online open course (MOOC) content, marketing content, and online course content in such a way that this content can be easily shared between areas.
  • Oversee content development to ensure that the content is shareable, and is targeted towards organic viewer engagement.
  • Ideate on visually interesting and unique approaches to video for increased overall sharing, engagement, and reach. Implement best approaches.
  • Oversee all video distribution strategy on YouTube, social media, and more.
  • Implement and oversee a master video scheduling document to ensure coordination of resources between teams. Coordinate video shoots with both in-house and external talent, as needed.
  • Manage video equipment and technology, including identifying, budgeting, purchasing, cataloging, and maintaining equipment.
  • Shooting and editing video production work, as required.
  • Oversee the strategy around third party distribution partners (Vidyard, Brightcove, etc).

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work & lead effectively in a highly diverse campus community.

Required Experience

  • BFA in Film or related field
  • 7-10 years experience with video production and video editing in a high paced environment.
  • Experience in overseeing digital video strategy, project workflow, and multi-channel video distribution for domestic and international audiences required.
