The Assistant Director reviews financial aid applications and counsels a caseload of approximately 17% of financial aid applicants/recipients in all aspects of financial assistance from the initial application stage to the awarding stage, to the appeal stage, if applicable. The Assistant Director is also responsible for various enrollment management activities, including reading Admission files and representing the Office of Financial Assistance at various on and on-and off-campus events. In addition to managing a student caseload and reading Admission applications, the Assistant Director manages one or more programs for the office, which could include state scholarship awarding, the Massachusetts No Interest Loan program, veterans’ benefits, or other programs as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required and at least one year of experience in the administration of financial aid in a higher education environment is preferred. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including excellent attention to detail. Must be comfortable with computer technology and web-based applications. The candidate must also hold and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
