The Sport Leadership and Management (SLAM) program announces the search for a new Clinical Faculty in Sport Leadership and Management.  Outstanding candidates are encouraged to apply to this growing undergraduate program (400+ SLAM majors/minors) and Master’s program in Sport Leadership.   The SLAM undergraduate major has four areas of concentration designed to prepare students for specific career opportunities in Sport Management, Coaching, Sport Journalism, and Sport Media.  Students often co-major or minor in management, marketing, or entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business, a nationally rated top 25 undergraduate Business program.  Miami University is located in close proximity to several major cities (Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Columbus, Chicago) allowing SLAM students and faculty to work with professional, collegiate, and community sport organizations.  

Duties

Candidates should be able to teach courses in two or more of the following content areas: sport finance and economics, facility and event management, sport marketing, or introductory sport management concepts and theory; supervise and facilitate internship experiences; mentor and advise undergraduate students, provide service to the department, division, and university.  

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Sport Management or a related field (by August 2016); potential for high quality graduate and undergraduate teaching in sport management; knowledge of and experience with multicultural populations; prior experience in sport industry or organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates will have a doctoral degree in Sport Management or related field; skills to incorporate technology in teaching; international experience or focus, and experience in interdisciplinary teaching.
