Duties & Responsibilities: This position will report to the Director of Occupational Therapy Assistant. The primary responsibilities include teaching and coordinating the fieldwork education and training of students. Administrative duties include: developing, organizing, administering and evaluating the fieldwork aspects of the program; orienting, coaching, scheduling and supervising fieldwork instructors and preceptors; securing fieldwork sites or affiliates for the program; assisting in quality improvement, curriculum development, accreditation of the program and assisting the director with special tasks and projects as well as other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and a State-licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant (or eligible for NM license) is required. Degrees must be awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body. A minimum of three years clinical experience is required which includes supervision of fieldwork students. If an Occupational Therapist, supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants is required. Experience as a seminar speaker and organizer, and working with diverse groups highly desirable. The OTA Fieldwork Coordinator supports the mission, vision and goals of San Juan College, the School of Health Sciences, and the Occupational Therapy Assistant program and will promote a positive learning and working environment. The successful individual will have a thorough understanding of and commitment to the community college mission. Evidence of effective working relationships with local, state and federal agencies, other colleges and faculty and staff. Starting Salary: $60,000-$85,000
