Detailed Job Description

The Director of Regional Development works in a regional advancement team cultivating and soliciting philanthropic support for university priorities by establishing and developing relationships with supporters in specific geographic regions in the United States. This position is based on the Saint Louis University campus

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree supplemented with one to three (1-3) years of related experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and executes an annual fundraising work plan with cultivation and solicitation steps for portfolio prospects with capacity to make annual gifts of $2,500+.

Personally meets with prospects and communicates effectively with them to complete cultivation/solicitation strategies. Readiness includes a comprehensive understanding of university priorities, customization of solicitation materials, strategy meetings, and, as appropriate, briefing materials for any university leaders involved in solicitation.

In consultation and collaboration with school-based, principal giving and planned giving officers, identifies donors in portfolio that are ready to make greater commitments to the institution.

Strategically and creatively identifies methods to secure first-time visits with and first-time gifts from donors with greatest capacity and propensity to support the institution.

Performs other duties as assigned.
