The Master of Social Work Program is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time,non-tenure track, faculty position to teach Graduate Social work courses.


The position reports directly to the Principal Investigators (PIs) of the Title IV-E, Child Welfare Stipend Program. The position is time limited and supported through grant funding from the Florida Department of Children and Families ( DCF). The faculty member will be expected to teach courses in the BSW and MSW programs through a variety of modes (face-to-face, online, and hybrid). The instructor will be responsible for the overall coordination of the Title IV-E Stipend Program including field placements for the students, advisement, mentorship and providing reports on student progress to the PI, as assigned.

  • This is a full time (1 FTE), time limited appointment expiring June 30, 2017 with the possibility of program extension.


    This is a nine (9) month, full-time faculty appointment at the Instructor rank.


    Review of candidate materials begins immediately for anticipated start date of December 2015. To apply, submit letter of introduction documenting successful teaching experience; curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation (all should be professional references and at least one from a recent superior); values statement (500 words or less) and teaching philosophy (500 words or less), which highlights how your teaching and administrative philosophy and practices fit the Mission and Values of Saint Leo University; official transcripts (including WES evaluation if from an international university); and student evaluations from the last year (at least six classes, an even mix of graduate and undergraduate).

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program. A minimum of three years of post-MSW child welfare practice experience with diverse/vulnerable populations. A minimum of one academic year of experience teaching social work at the undergraduate or graduate levels or its equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications:

MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD/DSW in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution. Experience in child welfare practice in Florida. Experience in field instruction. Understanding of the laws and regulations of the State of Florida.
