The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for an anticipated Clinical Instructor's position within ASA's School of Allied Health's baccalaureate program in Health Care Management beginning January 18, 2016, or until an acceptable applicant is found. This is a renewable term position that does not lead to tenure. Position of contingent on available funding.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Health Care Administration, MBA with Health Care specialization, Public Health or a closely related field. Teaching experience in population/community health, needs assessment, and managerial epidemiology as it relates the U.S. Healthcare System.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Health Care Administration, Business with Health Care specialization, Public Health or other closely related field. Interest in teaching other topics such as statistics, health information systems, legal aspects and current issues in healthcare, as well as other courses as they specifically relate to the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities: Provide direct classroom instruction and hold office hours as assigned. Teaching in multiple delivery formats including (but not limited to): traditional on-campus lecture, online (traditional and accelerated), and off-campus/remote site (accelerated weekends) is expected. Assist with student recruitment and retention activities. Participate and complete course assessment activities for the Health Care Management program. Some travel may be expected based on assignment. To engage in other duties as determined by the Director of the School of Allied Health.
