Detailed Job Description

The Coordinator for Health Promotion and Wellness is responsible for various administrative and program functions as directed by the Director of Health Promotion and Wellness. Responsibilities include program coordination, program oversight development, research and reporting, staff and employee training and education. This position provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple health promotion and wellness programs, services and events.

Additional Department Summary:

The Office of Health Promotion and Wellness provides programs, services and activities related to improving the health and well-being of The University of Alabama employees and family members.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Nutrition, Nursing, Health Education, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Health Psychology, Restaurant and Hospitality Management, or other closely related field, OR a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Nursing, Health Education, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Health Psychology, Restaurant and Hospitality Management, or other closely related field and a minimum of two (2) years' experience in program operations or in a position providing leadership for a wellness program or related program, OR a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and a minimum of three (3) years recent work experience in program operations or in a position coordinating a wellness or health/education related program. Previous supervisory experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and experience with graphic and website software and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical background with three or more years of experience in employee health and wellness program operations or in a position providing programs for a wellness program or related program. Certification in group exercise instruction or health coaching within 12 months of hire. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
