Organizes and maintains facilities and equipment for laboratory courses. Orders, procures and prepares supplies, materials, and solutions for laboratory courses. Identifies, selects, and makes hiring recommendations for adjunct laboratory instructors and student assistants. Trains and supervises laboratory personnel. Teaches two relevant courses per year.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in an area of expertise commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position OR a related combination of education and experience totaling four years.
M.Sc. in Biology or closely related field preferred.
Teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge of the field of Biology and the laboratory methods applied in that field.
Knowledge of the care and maintenance of living and preserved organisms and use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Skills in selecting and training co-workers.
Skills in teaching.
Ability to effectively juggle multiple responsibilities.
Ability to work with and supervise diverse co-workers with varying levels of training.
