Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Theoretical or Computational Physics 

The Department of Physics and Applied Physics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a tenure-track position in theoretical or computational physics starting September 2016. We are especially interested in candidates who can complement existing experimental research programs in the department, such as: astronomy and astrophysics, nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics, semiconductor science, photonics, and laser physics.

The successful candidate will be expected to setup an externally-funded, world-class research program synergistic with other programs in the Department, which directly involve graduate and undergraduate students; and should have a strong commitment to teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate level. The Department of Physics and Applied Physics is currently composed of 24 faculty members and roughly 100 graduate and 100 undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in physics or related field by time of appointment
  • Record of academic research
  • Demonstrated teaching ability
