Detailed Job Description
The Assessment Specialist is responsible for data searches, data retrieval, analyses and reporting from campus-wide data depositories to facilitate and support university planning, policy development, and operations.
Additional Department Summary:
This position will support an established campus-wide institutional effectiveness (IE) process designed to be meaningful, measurable and manageable. The University's IE process is integral to the institution's program review process, strategic planning, accreditation (specialized and regional), and assessment of student learning. The Assessment Associate supports OIE functions to include project management, consultation, training, resource development, accreditation, and process management.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of related assessment or analysis experience to include computer systems support experience or other relevant work experience; OR Master's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required. Experience in the field of assessment/institutional effectiveness. Experience with project, process, and/or document management.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively with an effective office team and individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines. Technical skills to use software to manage processes, store documents, manage projects, collect and analyze data, create and maintain websites, and manage accreditation. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, institutional effectiveness processes (planning and evaluation/assessment), best practices in assessment of student learning and evaluation of environments that support students, accreditation, and higher education culture and organization to include board and state approval processes. Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
IE experience at a large university with undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs is preferred. IE experience with both academic and administrative units. Experience with regional or specialized accrediting agencies. Experience with higher education curriculum approval processes for state agencies and governing boards. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37835.16 Midpoint - $ 54870.36
