Under the direction of the President, the Vice President for Admissions is the College’s chief admissions officer, responsible for providing the strategic direction and leadership for a results-oriented admissions program of considerable skill and innovation at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to ensure the institution achieves its enrollment goals in accordance with the mission, vision and core values of the institution. This position serves as the primary recruitment strategist of the College and will provide leadership in developing enrollment goals based on strategic analysis of market research, student success, program-specific and institutional capacity and resources. The Vice President will monitor trends in the economy and in the increasingly competitive educational marketplace and work with colleagues to attract, enroll, and retain a highly accomplished and diverse student body committed to the values and mission of AIC. The Vice President serves on the President's Cabinet and as staff to the Board of Trustees' Enrollment Management and Marketing Committee.

Master’s degree required.
At least seven to eight years of progressively greater responsibility in college recruitment and admissions with previous supervisory responsibility.
Strong working knowledge of admission at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Significant previous experience with new program development.
Knowledge of best practices in college admission and recruitment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to apply this knowledge in a small, private college environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to represent the office and the College in a professional manner and to conduct compelling and persuasive presentations to small and large groups.
Ability to adapt and problem-solve as needed, especially under pressure.
Highly motivated with a positive attitude, strong commitment to customer service, and student focus, with experience working with students from nontraditional and diverse backgrounds.
Results-oriented leader with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations informed by this analysis, collaborate with other college departments to implement new practices, and create buy-in interdepartmentally.
Previous experience working closely with a marketing department assisting in the creative vision for admissions.
Commitment to continual professional development and an understanding of the need for future planning based on demographic trends.
Ability to identify a need and take initiative to address that need.
Experience in training and supervising staff members on issues related to admission and recruitment.
Able to develop collegial and constructive working relationships across campus.
Be an exceptional listener with the desire to empower his/her direct reports and encourage their success.
Previous experience with the allocation of finite financial aid dollars to maximize net revenue.
Analyze departmental data and market data in order to provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
In conjunction with senior leaders, develop and implement strategic enrollment management.
Hire, train, supervise and mentor admissions staff, with a particular impact on the development and supervision of the Director of Graduate and Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
Collaborate with the department directors to ensure comprehensive, coordinated and effective efforts.
Work strategically with Directors and the marketing team to support and ensure the development of engaging recruitment-related marketing materials, provide strong leadership on content and design.
Support data requests as required by accrediting bodies and other external organizations.
Serve as a member of college-wide committees, specifically the President's Cabinet, Committee on Academic Standards, and others as needed.
Create strong relationships on and off campus to further the needs of the admissions effort and provide transparent leadership to campus.
Oversee the management of the undergraduate and graduate departmental budgets.
Work closely with colleagues across campus to provide enrollment expertise as it relates to developing and implementing new programs, with particular focus on new graduate programs.
Work closely with the Director of Financial Aid and President’s Cabinet to evaluate and establish annual financial aid allocations.
