The Center seeks to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer through innovative basic and clinical research, patient care and community education and outreach. Our longstanding interest is the study of thoracic malignancies ranging from preclinical investigations of mechanism of action of novel targeted anticancer agents to translational research involving biological studies of genes important for the biology of thoracic tumors. The ongoing studies in the lab include the following investigations (1) EGFR-TKI resistance in NSCLC, (2) ALK activation and TKI resistance in NSCLC, (3) NSCLC metastasis mouse models, and (4) NextGen sequencing-based molecular profiling of lung cancers and thymic epithelial malignancies. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with proven expertise in molecular biology, and cancer cell biology and good oral and written communication skills. Candidates with a background in working with NextGen seq are also encouraged to apply. Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. with less than five years of relevant postdoctoral experience, and preference will be given to newly graduated Ph.D. or candidates. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
