There's never a dull moment when working on publications as part of the University Communications and Marketing team. You will need to be a thinker, author, problem-solver, and storyteller of our brand. At times you will need to tell a compelling story throughout an 80-page viewbook. Other times, you'll craft a two-word anthem that will ring loud and true with our target audience. In between, there will be postcards and pamphlets, billboards and brochures…all talking to a teen, like a teen.
The University Marketing Copywriter/Editor will collaborate with appropriate staff and team members to write, edit, and prepare for production a variety of university communications, primarily directed toward external audiences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of the difference between writing for print publications, advertising, and websites.
He/she will be expected to embrace our project management system in order to assist in managing project timelines and maintaining deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects. The successful candidate will be able to take/deliver creative and editorial feedback from/to colleagues who do not report directly to him/her, and will drive results while keeping projects on track. He/she will consult with university divisions and departments across campus to help produce graphic, photographic, and print production requirements.
