Detailed Job Description

Applicants for the positions should possess notable, recognized credits in editing. Though credits in film and television are desirable, strong professional credits in other, non-traditional forms of editing, are desired. Teaching experience is preferred. An advanced degree is desirable but not mandatory.

Candidates should have comfort in both traditional and non-traditional forms of editing, be comfortable with emerging technologies, and have a strong sense of story structure with both narrative fiction and non-fiction storytelling techniques. Demonstrated, award-winning expertise is a plus.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach several undergraduate or graduate classes each semester, mentor students, as well as serve on a number of school and university committees. They are also expected to continue to produce work while teaching.

Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.

The Division of Film and Television Production offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts and the Master of Fine Arts degrees. The primary goals of the degree programs in film and television production are to develop the student's ability to express original ideas on film or video and to instill a thorough understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of motion pictures and television. Courses in production provide individual and group filmmaking experiences and the opportunity to learn all aspects of filmmaking in a collaborative environment.
