Two positions available. Represent Miami University’s regional locations to prospective students, parents, high school counselors, community colleges, local businesses and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Lead and participate in the development and delivery of on and off campus programs.
Work in all aspects of student recruitment, general office operations, and application review. Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools, community colleges, and businesses. Develop and maintain working relationships with high school counselors, communicating regularly through scheduled visits. Deliver pertinent regional campus materials to high schools and other constituencies in a timely manner. Present informational sessions about Miami University’s regional locations or general college planning topics to multiple target groups, including traditional, non-traditional, and diverse students and their families. Provide counsel about the admission process, academic programs, and transfer guidelines in person, via telephone/ email inquiries, attendance at college fairs, and other locations throughout the year. Coordinate one or more of the following: student ambassador program, campus visit program, College Credit Plus program, international admission, application review, college fair, and guidance counselor luncheon. Maintain an effective means of follow up with prospective student contacts and track results using a student database management system.
Bachelor’s degree; Successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and public-speaking skills and excellent organizational and written skills. Must be a self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Have knowledge in using various software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Need to have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
At least one year of experience working in admission, youth outreach programming, non-traditional student recruitment, or with community colleges. Familiarity with Banner or CRM software.
