Responsible for the development and administration of the university's compensation, employment, HRIS and HR-related technology programs.
Develop and direct strategic planning in the design, implementation of compensation programs for the university(e.g., classification structures, job evaluation process, market pricing, local/state/national survey participation, incentive/bonus programs, compensation processes, etc.).
Directs employment unit. Reviews and develops the policies and procedures for unclassified, classified and student employment. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, civil service rules and bargaining unit contracts. Works with hiring department regarding advertisements, screening and interviewing, and reference checking. Oversees criminal background check process. Responsible for the implementation and development of the on-line position description and applicant tracking system, HireTouch.
Plans, evaluates, develops, and implements of all HR Systems, focusing on the process and integration of information crucial to improving key HR performance, reporting and metrics. Works closely with IT Technical Experts and other Human Resources staff to partner on system solutions to achieve strategic goals.
Manages the daily operations of the Employee Records department to ensure all human resources related data is recorded and maintained appropriately in hard copy and in Banner. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the HR related modules in Banner, to include testing upgrades and implementing new modules.
Conduct periodic assessment to determine future needs of the university for pay, reward design, work design and classification systems.
Develop, implement, interpret and ensure compliance with university rules policies and procedures, bargaining unit contracts and federal and state regulations.
Provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Bachelor's degree with seven years of directly related experience. Three years of supervisory experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certified Compensation Professional Certification. SPHR or PHR certification. Masters Degree.
