Reporting and providing direct organizational support to the Program Director, the Assistant to the Program Director position works independently on assignments and projects that vary in levels of complexity as follows:
1.    Independently ensure that the Liberal & Civic Studies Program office operates efficiently and productively, including: coordinating student academic activities and events, assisting Program Director with a broad range of tasks and projects related to implementing critical structural and curricular changes in the L&CS Program, calendaring Program meetings and events, maintaining Program records and files, monitoring operations budget, and processing check requests and expense reports.
2.    Serve as primary point of contact for L&CS students, interact cooperatively and effectively with Liberal & Civic Studies faculty, members of the Program's Advisory Board, as well as recording proceedings at Program and L&CS Advisory Board meetings. 
3.    Responsible for maintaining currency of all student electronic and hard copy lists and files, serving as contact person for interested applicants, answering inquiries from prospective students, and notifying students relative to academic compliance and other necessary correspondence to students.
4.    Exhibit ability to establish priorities and provide excellent and timely customer service with attention to detail.
5.    Demonstrate ability to function and perform in a dynamic environment with flexibility and creativity, display calm demeanor under pressure, and maintain confidentiality when required.  
6.    Work in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse environment and develop effective relationships within the Program, School of Liberal Arts, and with other areas of the College, attends workshops and meetings consistent with professional development, as well as ongoing College training programs in order to meet the demands of the position.
7.    Perform other administrative tasks, including ordering supplies and equipment, managing requests for major printing projects, distributing mail, maintaining photocopier, and ordering photocopier supplies.  
8.    Other assignments and projects as assigned by Program Director.

Experience and Qualifications:

High School diploma required; A.A. Degree desired; B.A. Degree preferred.
Minimum five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience; experience in higher education environment desired.
Outstanding computer skills required (Microsoft Office applications, Moodle, Google Docs, and other tools). Training will be provided, where necessary.
