Coordinator of Clinical Placements for Teacher Preparation is a 12 month position. This person will report to the Director of Partnerships and the Chair of Teacher Education. 


  • Coordinate Teacher Preparation Clinical Field Placements
  • Recommend new hires, train and oversee student teaching field supervisors
  • Coordinate all efforts related to the Student Teaching Summative Assessment (currently edTPA)
    • Provide professional development for supervisors related to the assessment
    • Facilitate student seminars in preparation of the assessment
    • Serve as the EHS contact for all matters related to the assessment
    • Collaborate with music and art faculty regarding all aspects of the assessment
  • Supervise clinical field placement support staff
  • Teach 1-2 courses per year in Teacher Education
  • Collaborate with other EHS partnership/field placement coordinators
  • Serve on EHS clinical placement/internship committee
  • Serve as faculty of record for multiple sections of EDT/EDP419/519 each semester
  • Collaborate with music and art faculty regarding MUS419 and ART419
  • Collaborate with Director of EHS Partnerships to facilitate relationships with schools and related partners and to foster teacher preparation clinical placements.
  • Serve as a conduit with EDT faculty to foster curricular and programmatic connections between EDT courses and field placements
  • Serve on School Liaison Partnership Committee

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Master's with earned degree in education field, previous experience supervising student teachers in the field (e.g., practicum/internship); Current Ohio state licensure required; experience working with multicultural and/or diverse populations; previous teaching experience in the P-12 school environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Desired Qualifications: Previous experience directing student teaching or clinical field placement office; and developing and facilitating school partnerships between K-12 settings and the university. Extensive knowledge of, and working relationship with, school districts within the southwestern region of Ohio.
