The Computer and Information Technology department is seeking an assistant/associate professor to teach courses in the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree program. This tenure-track position is at the rank of assistant or associate professor commencing in August of 2016.
The department is part of the College of Professional Studies and Applied Sciences of Miami University and is based on Miami’s open-admission regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown. The regional campuses at Miami University are a growing academic institution now offering bachelor and master degree programs and have numerous agreements with partner institutions. Administrators, faculty and staff are highly engaged with the student populace and maintain a strong tie to our main campus.
The department offers Bachelor of Science and Associate degree programs. Students seeking a B. S. degree can major in Health Information Technology (HIT) or Information Technology (IT). Associate degree programs in Computer Information Technology are offered with concentrations in Networking and in Software Development and Support.
Teach courses in information technology or health information technology; advise students; maintain a program of scholarship; provide meaningful service to the CIT department, campus, students, community and university. This position is a unique opportunity for faculty who are committed to open access education and strong ties to the community.
Master’s degree in information technology, computing, or related field, current knowledge and skills in applied information technology or computing, commitment to teaching, diversity and inclusion.
Strong candidates will have a PhD in a related field; a breadth of teaching experience in information technology; industry experience in information technology or related fields. Candidates for an assistant professor position must show potential for high quality scholarship and/or service; candidates for an associate professor position must have an existing record of high quality teaching, scholarship and service commensurate with university expectations for tenured professors.
