Instructors for established online courses offered by Project Dragonfly at Miami University during the fall and spring semesters, or summer term. Opportunity for renewal based on available funding and performance. Instructors are required to have access to the web and may be considered if residing outside Ohio. This is a part-time instructional staff position, not eligible for health care insurance.
Instructors work with a creative university team of faculty and staff at Project Dragonfly and its partnership programs (Global Field Program, Advanced Inquiry Program and Earth Expeditions) to instruct graduate-level online courses offered through Miami University. All courses are pre-designed by Project Dragonfly and include course-specific Instructor Guides and online support workshops. The Instructor will collaborate with Project Dragonfly staff and work to maintain the overall academic quality of their courses. Duties include reviewing course curriculum and student projects, interacting online, assessing and grading student work, and submitting final grades.

Performance Verification Measures
Demonstrated significant educational, community leadership, or research proficiency through a minimum of five years of service beyond a master’s degree in the fields of education, community leadership, wildlife conservation, zoological management and research, non-profit organization, or related activities. The applicant must meet the qualification criteria for Graduate Level Standing at Miami University. Consistent access to the web is required.
A doctoral degree. Experience with web-based courses and instruction. Specialized knowledge in content areas offered by Project Dragonfly (e.g., conservation, ecology, evolution, participatory and inquiry-driven education, and community engagement). Experience with web tools for collaboration including Skype, Google apps, web conferencing, and creation of video/instructional media.
