Administrative Assistant for the Education Department reports to the Program Directors in the Academic Unit.
Responsible for responding to program inquires with the ability to provide high-level customer service and professionalism. Basic knowledge of all programs is expected.
Process correspondence for the Associate Dean of Education and the Assistant Dean of Education; compile and organize information requiring the understanding and evaluation of data sources.
Assist the other specialists in processing paperwork related to graduate education field experiences.
Respond to requests for information and provides assistance in solving a variety of problems of ordinary difficulty, based on knowledge of the procedures, practices and past experience.
Transmit authoritative information and serves as a resource regarding policies and procedures relating to the specialized administrative function, with responsibility to occasionally interpret such policies and procedures with the guidance of the appropriate more senior administrator.
Participate in planning and decisions regarding new or changed procedures in assigned area of responsibility.
Communicate regularly with other College offices and/or outside agencies to request or provide information or to clarify procedures as directed or as needed.
Devise, modify and/or supervise the maintenance and coordination of complex filing systems, records and/or data systems which may be computerized.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of knowledge, abilities, and work experience is required.
Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of administrative specialty required by department to be served, and ability to independently resolve problems of ordinary difficulty.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Literacy with Microsoft computer software and ability to learn new programs.
