Description of Position: This is an Assistant Professor faculty position within the Rehabilitation Institute, College of Education and Human Services. It is a continuing tenure-track appointment in the Communication Disorders and Sciences program. We seek a colleague who will establish a prominent research program within a nationally recognized rehabilitation education and human services program.
Our Masters of Science degree program in speech-language pathology is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation and Speech Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Responsibilities of Position:
Requirements: The rank of Assistant Professor requires the completed doctorate by the date of appointment, with a concentration in communication disorders and sciences or audiology. Applicants who have completed all but the dissertation and who expect to complete all requirements for the doctorate prior to August 15, 2016, will be considered. If official evidence of the appointee's completion of the earned doctorate is not received by August 15, 2016, the position offered will be a nine-month, term appointment at the rank of Instructor and at a lower salary. Applicants for the rank of assistant professor should possess the potential for scholarly research that leads to publications in nationally refereed journals. Candidates must hold (or be eligible for) license and certification appropriate to profession.
Preferences: The candidate's area of specialty is open but preference will be given for an audiologist or specialty in autism spectrum disorder. Preference will also be given to applicants holding Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in SLP or audiology.
Appointment: This is a continuing tenure-track position. Appointment is on a nine-month academic year basis. Contingent upon available funding and student demand, additional summer semester appointment may be possible. Progress in rank requires demonstration of excellence in teaching, research, and professional service. This position is contingent on available funding.
