The Finance Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is conducting a national search for a tenure track position beginning August 2016. The College of Business is one of four academic units in the University. It houses six academic departments: Finance, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Management and Marketing.
The Department of Finance serves almost 400 majors who can choose specialized study in either general finance or financial services. The financial services curriculum is registered with the CFP Board of Standards, and graduates may qualify (depending on their coursework) to sit for the national certification exam upon graduation.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of four upper division finance sections every semester (the possibility for a reduced load exists with teaching assignments at the graduate level). Other required activities include providing academic and professional advising, engaging in scholarly activities that result in papers published in refereed conference proceedings and/or refereed journals, as well as participating in progressively responsible service activities that benefit the Department, College and University.
ABD in Finance or related field.
A completed research doctorate in finance from an AACSB-accredited institution.
A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching,
Ability to develop intellectual and scholarly contributions,
Demonstrated capacity of providing service to the institution’s many stakeholders.
Teaching experience and evidence of scholarly production in areas appropriate to the candidate’s area of expertise, especially at the graduate level (in support of the University’s proposed MBA program).
