Detailed Job Description

The Director of Endowments & Special Recruitment is responsible for managing the income from the College's endowment accounts including scholarship awards, reconciliation and tracking of account activity. This position will work with the Dean and major donors to cultivate and recruit VIP prospects.

Additional Department Summary:

This position manages the income from the College's 500+ endowment accounts (appx $55 million in endowments). This position directs 23 program and department chairs and their staff on appropriate management of accounts and stewardship. It also represents the Office of the Dean to donors and prospective donors regarding policies and procedures of endowment management and provides consultation on developing endowment parameters. A significant portion of this position is dedicated to specialized and personalized recruitment visits and advising sessions for the College's most attractive candidates and their parents. Along with the Assistant Dean for Student Services, this position will likewise work with the College's 22 departments to recruit "VIP" student prospects.This position also manages the College of Arts and Sciences Ambassadors, a group of 25 selected students who represent the College at special events and conduct service and outreach projects for the College. This includes conducting the annual selection process for Ambassadors (call for and screening of applications, organizing the selection committee, overseeing interviews); organizing the annual, off-campus weekend training retreat; holding monthly, evening planning meetings and social gatherings of the group; scheduling Ambassadors to work over 40 College events throughout the year, and overseeing Ambassador service projects. This position also assists the Dean with writing letters of recommendation for undergraduate students within the college.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of standard practices in endowment/scholarship management and financial aid. Familiarity with higher ed endowment management databases. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
