Detailed Job Description

American International College is currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join the admissions team! AIC is accepting applications for the Freshman Admissions Counselor position. This is an entry-level position. The Admissions Counselor will help identify, recruit, admit and enroll academically qualified traditional or non-traditional/transfer students, primarily through on-campus visits with students and families. Extensive travel is required (approximately 12 weeks/year).


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
  • Ability to load and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the office and College in a professional manner.
  • Ability to adapt and problem-solve as needed, especially under pressure.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude, strong commitment to customer service, and student focus.
  • Good sense of humor.
  • Essential Functions

  • Participates as an active member of the recruitment team
  • Identifies, recruits and enrolls students
  • Conducts office-based contact by mail and phone
  • Attends college fairs as a representative of AIC
  • Develops meaningful relationship with on and off-campus constituents to implement succesful events
  • Travels to local high-schools and community colleges to host college information sessions
  • Other duties as assigned
