Devises and executes communications plans and material – both for internal and external constituencies – at the executive (including the Office of the President) level in a way that elevates the profile of the University and reinforces the UVU brand. This is an embedded position within the University’s central Marketing and Communications office specializing in executive and high profile/impact university communications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus three to five years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling at least seven years.
Master’s degree in a related field
Strong knowledge of communications best practices, with preference for experience in a higher education setting.
Knowledge of graphic design principles and applications including the Adobe and Microsoft Suites.
Demonstrated knowledge of best social media practices.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Demonstrated and versatile writing skills, including ghost writing skills.
Strong copy editing skills a must.
Excellent organization and time-management skills.
Proficiency with audio/visual and multi-media equipment.
Ability to think strategically;
Ability to analyze data and trends in order to make decisions.
Ability to thrive under pressure.
Ability to build rapport and lead collaborative projects.
Ability to be a self-starter.
Demonstrated ability to assist in the design and layout of collateral materials.
Demonstrated ability to create presentations.
