The Assistant Director represents WSU Tri-Cities (WSUTC) Early Outreach Department to prospective students and families as well as various school professionals and administrators.This position is responsible for coordinating operations and outreach programming and providing support services to students participating in College in the High Schools and other outreach programs. Will provide consultation, guidance, and professional leadership in the development/implementation of early outreach programs and leads the development of multimedia resources/information.
Will monitor and evaluate student services and operational effectiveness, makes recommendations for process improvements and assists with the preparation of annual budgets for the department.
Functions as a liaison with WSUTC and University faculty, supervisors, and internal and external constituents.
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Demonstrated experience with general education courses and requirements of WSU academic programs.
Experience developing and managing a budget.
Familiar with National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) standards and policies.
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people, including peers, university and school administrators, faculty, and staff, students and parents, and the general public.
Experience in making public presentations to diverse groups of individuals.
Bi-lingual/Bi-literate in English and Spanish.
