The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks highly qualified applicants for a variable-time, term, non-tenure track faculty position starting January 1, 2016. The successful candidate will teach 2-3 courses per semester. The course offerings are mainly in thermal science (Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Thermal Measurements, Applied Chemical Thermodynamics and Kinetics, and Internal Combustion Engines), Senior Design (senior level culminating project-student advising, interacting with local and national level companies), and manufacturing methods areas. This position is contingent on available funding. The position is non-tenure track appointment for one semester initially. After demonstrating quality performance and successful completion of the assigned teaching responsibilities, the contract is term renewable, contingent on available funding.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a related field is required.
