The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of La Verne is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for its developing Masters in Physician Assistant Program. The position will serve in a dual capacity as clinical coordinator (primary responsibilities) and principal faculty, assisting with preparation necessary for program accreditation; recruiting, developing and maintaining clinical rotation sites and preceptors; scheduling clerkship assignments; serving as liaison with clinical preceptors; and evaluating, assessing, supervising and advising students and preceptors. As a principal faculty in the program, the Clinical Coordinator develops, coordinates and teaches courses, and participates in program assessment. This position is integral in the development of the Physician Assistant Program and its accreditation. This is a full-time, tenure track position. The College of Arts and Sciences seeks someone with at least a Master’s degree from an accredited university and preferably a Doctoral degree. The ideal candidate must have 2 years of full time clinical experience, current NCCPA certification, current licensure (or eligibility) to practice in the State of California, experience in Physician Assistant education, knowledge of ARC-PA standards, ability to travel, network and interact professionally with students, faculty and staff and clinical partners and preceptors, knowledge of curriculum and course development, and a commitment to community service and diversity. Student advising and committee work is required, as well as maintaining a record of scholarship and professional activities to assure program and university visibility.The College of Arts and Sciences seeks candidates whose teaching, research and service complement the university’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity and who understand the barriers faced by underrepresented minorities and first-generation college students.
