The Postdoctoral Research Associate will supervise and conduct research for a portion of a USDA grant focused on calf health and antimicrobial resistance. The researcher will be required to work on commercial-scale dairy farms and conduct the necessary microbiology lab work daily. The researcher will also be responsible for data management and analysis leading to extension and peer-review publications. This position requires extended time in the field.
A doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, DVM, MD or equivalent) is required in the field of veterinary science, animal science, microbiology, animal health or related-field. Evidence of laboratory work experience, preferably in microbiology, is required. Applicant should have experience working with dairy cattle and knowledge of dairy production.
Evidence of experience communicating with diverse constituents including peers, technical staff, field veterinarians, producers and dairy workers is preferred. Applicants that have published their research in peer-review journals within their discipline will be given preference. Bi-lingual English/Spanish applicants are desired.
