The Manager, Financial Aid Quality Assurance provides overall quality assurance (QA) of all financial aid processes. This role assists with reporting and tracking of issues. Additionally, the manager, financial aid quality assurance assists with the implementation of system enhancements and upgrades.
Develops an internal QA policy for financial aid processes and third party processes.
Proactively communicates and reports to associate vice president (AVP), financial aid services and vice president (VP), finance operations regarding quality metrics and areas of concern.
Works with the financial aid teams and managers to coordinate and implement QA policy, identify areas of training, and propose process changes.
Coordinates the reporting of issues, and manages follow up.
Works closely with director of finance systems to assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinating resources and processes with financial aid and information technology (IT) and to ensure all applications and databases implemented are tested prior to deployment.
Assists with implementation and testing of new enhancements, upgrades and projects.
Collaborates with financial aid operations department to develop and implement process improvements.
Conducts quarterly audits of processes to ensure current and efficient.
Manages and reports on special handling populations.
Coordinates and assists with providing documentation to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and financial aid audits to include annual review of narratives and policies and procedures.
Stays abreast of American Public University System (APUS) policies & procedures as well as industry changes, best practices, and technology.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Access and Word.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in financial aid or related field required.
