Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Accounting reports directly to the Associate Comptroller and is responsible for contributing to the general day-to-day accounting and financial functions of the Business Office which include purchasing and contract administration, accounts reconciliation, accounts receivable and  payable, inventory management, grants accounting, general ledger, cash management, and financial and management reporting.


  • Assist in the preparation of periodic and annual financial and management reports
  • Assist in the management of cash, inventory, fixed assets and internal audit
  • Oversee the purchasing operation, administer contracts and monitor accounts receivable
  • Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
  • Coordinate transactions between the College's and the State's accounting system (MMARS)



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • At least three years relevant accounting experience


  • CPA or equivalent Professional Accounting qualification
  • MBA degree or an MS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Familiarity with State accounting system
  • Auditing experience.
