Assists students and parents regarding the financial aid process and provides information on available programs, procedures, and eligibility requirements. Reviews financial aid applications and related documentation for compliance with eligibility requirements. Provides assistance to students and parents in the completion of financial aid applications. Must be able to obtain accesses to Federal Government databases pertaining to federal student aid.
High school diploma and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.
Previous working experience with BANNER preferred.
Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to financial aid including need analysis, eligibility and assessment, and packaging strategies.
Knowledge of automated financial aid management systems.
Skills in interpersonal communication, problem solving, and decision making.
Skills in making presentations and training others.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently and organize a heavy workload.
Ability to operate office equipment, computers, and software.
